Start with how many pallets you hold per SKU. Selective rack fits mixed SKUs with direct access; pushback works for 2 to 6 deep LIFO lanes by SKU; pallet flow keeps dated stock FIFO; drive-in stores bulk quantities of few SKUs. Long material goes on cantilever and case picking goes on carton flow.

How much does pallet rack cost?

There is no honest per-bay price until we know your layout. Cost depends on the number of pallet positions, frame height, beam capacity, decking, freight and installation. Do you install the racking, or just sell it?

Both. We design the layout, supply new material and install it with experienced installation crews we schedule and manage. Every frame is anchored to the floor, and load plaques are posted before turnover.

What aisle width do I need?

Your lift truck sets it. Counterbalance trucks typically need about 12 to 13 feet, reach trucks about 8 to 10 feet, and very-narrow-aisle equipment about 5 to 6 feet. Aisle width drives storage density more than almost any other decision in the layout.

What is the lead time for pallet rack?

It depends on the system. Standard pallet rack components are covered by our 48-hour quick ship program, while pushback, flow, drive-in and non-standard sizes take longer. Your quote confirms the lead time, and installation time is scheduled around bay count and site readiness.

Four things decide the answer: how many SKUs you carry, how many pallets you hold of each one, how fast product turns, and how much height the building gives you.

Many SKUs with a pallet or two each point to selective pallet rack. Several pallets of the same item favor pushback. Date-driven rotation calls for pallet flow. Large volumes of a few items in a tight footprint suit drive-in. Long material needs cantilever, and case picking needs carton flow.
